My Favorite Wedding Details
Chris and I celebrated our 6th anniversary yesterday and I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite things from our wedding… there are aspects I would change, things that were fine but these are the things I loved so much and hope they can provide a little inspiration in your own wedding planning process! On that same note, I am SO sorry for everyone who had their wedding planned and had to reschedule or cancel because of Covid – the wedding planning process is difficult enough without the stress of a PANDEMIC – I can’t even imagine.
Intimate Rehearsal Dinner
We kicked off our destination wedding weekend with an intimate rehearsal dinner with just our wedding party, parents and grandparents. Starting the weekend with just our nearest and dearest was the best way to get all of our festivities going.
Welcome Party
The night following our rehearsal, the 4th of July, we hosted a welcome party/4th of July barbecue for all of our wedding guests at Campbell’s Resort. My mother in law ordered copious amounts of sparklers and signature match books and it was a great way to welcome everyone to Chelan and chat before the actual wedding.
My Dress
I love that my Monique Lhuillier dress had a removable skirt. It felt like I was able to have my princess moment walking down the aisle but then I took it off for the reception and it was like a second dress – and one that I could actually move in!
Pre-Ceremony Cocktails
We were married at Karma Vineyards, and one of the many great things they offer is a pre-ceremony cocktail hour. I loved being able to offer our guests a glass of rose, a few nibbles before our ceremony, and even a nice cocktail or glass of wine during the ceremony. Because, wine not?!
Individual Baguettes at Place Settings
Give me a sliced baguette, cheese and a glass of wine and I am one happy woman. I guess I wanted all of my guests to share in my love of baguettes so we had individual baguettes put at each guests place setting and it is still one of my favorite little details from our wedding.
Late night burgers and fries
Another great thing about our venue is that we could keep the party going until much later than other Lake Chelan venues due to sound ordinances. So naturally, we kept the party going and offered late night burgers and sweet potato fries and they were so delicious and just what we all needed to keep dancing.
Destination Weekend
I loved having a destination wedding; just in case you are contemplating it! Having multiple days to spend with our favorite people in one of our favorite places just made the experience that much more amazing!
