Budget-Friendly Beach Buys
We are heading to Hawaii in a few weeks and I am so excited for some sunshine and a change of scenery. That said, the beach is on my mind and I’ve been on the hunt for all the cute things to wear in Hawaii which brings me to my next point: I’m on a BUDGET now. To be clear, I have ever been able to buy anything and everything, BUT for both Chris and my sanity we decided that I would get a monthly budget for all the things I spend money on so that he doesn’t have to see what I am buying and I am responsible for my own bills. Honestly, it has been shockingly GREAT. I was worried about being held to a certain amount and having to monitor/pay my own bills, but it is SO nice not having to answer the “what this?” this question on the credit card and he LOVES not having to ask me or worry about it now. So WIN WIN (as long as I remember to pay my CC bill)! AND I feel like it has also made me think about my spending habits and cut back on the crap that I really don’t need or care about and save money for the things I really love and want. So, with all of that being said, here are my purchases for our upcoming tropical getaway:
Leopard Straw Hat. I own everything else in leopard so I also needed this straw hat.
Swim Scrunchies. I didn’t know swim scrunchies were even a thing until my future sister-in-law (Laura) gifted me one. So, obviously, I needed a few more!
Aerie Black Bikini Bottom and Top. I also purchased in bright green. It’s so flattering and easy to wear!
JCrew Factory Midi Cover-Up Dress. Thought I needed a few non-leopard swim cover-ups…
Amazon Bikini Cover-Up. See above 🙂 Also I’ve seen super $$$$ versions of this elsewhere so felt like it was a steal.
Maxi Dress. I love this dress. It’s so comfortable and fun.
Mink Pink Mini Dress. Thirty, flirty and thriving? HA not sure what to say about this one other than it feels fun!
Terry Top and Short Set. Credit for this set also goes to Laura. It’s so comfortable and trendy at the right price. I think it will be the perfect fun thing to throw over a swimsuit or even for lounging around in the evening. Also, this is the first time I’ve ever considered purchasing multiple warm-weather lounge sets for a Hawaii trip….
Packable Sun Visor. More credit to Laura. I’d been wanting a big visor and this one is packable and perfect.
Valentino Dupe Slide Sandal. Even more credit to Laura. I’m seeing a trend here…..
White Slide Sandal. I can’t get enough slides. I only wear my comfy things now, so might as well just buy the comfy things.
Cat and Jack Sandals for the boys. I buy a new pair of these for Joe every year and Jack just got his very first pair! He LOVES them. It’s too funny – he wants them on at all times and it’s currently snowing here…
Cat and Jack Swim Shirts and Trunks / Trunks. I really don’t think you can beat the price and quality on the Cat and Jack swim shirts and trunks. I buy the boys new ones every year and they hold up just as well as all the expensive ones and are just as cute.
And matching Pineapple Shirts for the husband and boys 🙂
