Carlsbad & Coronado
We spent a long weekend in Carlsbad and Coronado for our cousin’s wedding and had such a great time. I really hadn’t spent time in the San Diego area since my yearly trip for the San Diego Surf Cup soccer tournament growing up and I loved it! Here were the highlights…
Carlsbad is such a cute beach town! We highly recommend the amazing breakfast at Swami’s Cafe, delicious Beer Slushies from Pure Project Brewery, healthy eats and juices from Choice Juicery, and a long walk along the never ending beach.
After two nights in Carlsbad we made our way to the Del Coronado hotel with a few stops on the way. Most importantly, we made our way to the Boochcraft Tasting room in Del Mar! You know how much I love Boochcraft… If you are new here, it’s hard organic Kombucha and you should definitely try it – especially the new Coconut Lime! Yum. The new brewers deck on the Sky Deck was such a cool location – with both beer and booch and all sorts of tasty food options to enjoy with your beverage.
After our amazing Boochcraft pit stop, we made our way to Old town La Jolla. We rented a golf cart to get us around town and it was such a fun way to explore the cute town of La Jolla! We highly recommend having lunch at the El Pescador Fish Market. If you are thinking about staying in La Jolla, the pink Valencia hotel was so cute! Or if you are looking for more a family/kid-friendly spot, we are heading back to the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club with our boys in October.
While we hated to return the golf cart, we made our way to Hotel del Coronado. I’m sure you’ve seen pictures of this iconic hotel and I was excited to finally see it in person! The hotel and little town of Coronado exceeded my expectations and we can’t way to go back. It almost feels like you are in Hawaii but it’s only a two hour flight! We stayed in the views building that has the cutest little patio areas off of your room. The Coronado beach is amazing and the hotel has everything you could ever need – work out classes, multiple restaurants, ice cream shop, a s’mores bus… the list goes on and on.
Per usual, we found some amazing food in the cute town of Coronado. The Garage Buona Forchetta was so fantastic we made our way there twice in one day. It doubles as a restaurant and the cutest little Italian deli and wine shop. The Henry in Coronado also shouldn’t be missed and of course we needed to visit Coronado Brewing. Everything from the hotel into to town is walkable and lovely – I just wish we had more time to spend and explore. Next time!
Until next time San Diego – you treated us right! And a random site note, if you are considering a photo booth your wedding – do it! SO FUN!
