Megan’s 40th Birthday Dinner

We celebrated Megan’s birthday at my house with all the red wine and chocolate.

We started the evening with Black Raspberry Bellinis. They are cute/went with our red theme, delicious and super simple. The day of your event, put out champagne flutes and add a splash of Chambord Liqueur and a few raspberries to the bottom of each glass. Shortly before your guests arrive, add champagne and set them out so guests can grab one as they come in.

My cute soon to be sister-in-law and the tasty Black Raspberry Bellinis

I made a large appetizer spread at one end of my kitchen island. I love making cheese and dessert boards so I gave my sister this book as part of her birthday present for more inspiration. I think adding greens and flowers really elevates the spread, board, or platter.

Following the signature cocktail, we served our favorite Karma Vineyards bubbly (Chris and I got married at Karma) and Walla Walla Vintners Cab Franc with dinner. We brought dinner in from Pasta and Co. We’ve used Pasta and Co on numerous occasions, including their specialty menus for Christmas Eve and Valentines Day and everything is always delicious. My mom also loves to order their lasagna for family dinners and if you haven’t tried their Caesar salad/dressing topped with their “just chicken”, you’re missing out.

Did you know that Trophy Cupcake makes cakes now? We ordered their 24-Karat chocolate cake and it worked perfectly with our chocolate theme. They have so many fun cakes to choose from; check it out. We also served chocolate covered strawberries and made a dessert/candy platter- you can never have enough platters!

And can’t forget my Dad, the real sommelier (and wine provider)
