Lake Chelan Favorites

Here is a list of our favorite things you don’t want to miss on your next trip to Lake Chelan:

1. First things first, on your drive into Chelan, be sure to stop by Anjou Bakery and Country Boy’s BBQ in Cashmere. Anjou bakery for the best pies, tuna sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, and home made almond milk lattes. Country boy’s for the best barbecue ribs, chicken thighs, brisket and corn bread. YUM.
2. The Vogue Liquid Lounge is the best spot in town for coffee and the tastiest home made granola bar you will ever have. We love to grab coffees and then try to keep up with the kids on scooters around the Riverwalk Loop Trail. They also have beer, wine and live music.
3. Take out Wood-Fired Pizzas from Siren Song Wines. Grab a glass of Muse Champagne and enjoy the pretty view while you wait for your pizza.
4. Kelly’s Resort is the loveliest place to enjoy an iced latte. It feels like I am sitting in Tuscany when I’m sipping my coffee on their deck. However, recently you are only allowed to enjoy their coffee bar if you are a member or guest of the resort. If you are looking for lake side lodging slightly out of town, and perhaps more of a rustic AirBnB experience, I highly recommend you check out Kelly’s. It has the best beach and swim area for kids.
5. Bear Foods Market for natural organic foods. In my experience, it is more difficult to buy organic or speciality and gourmet foods at the regular grocery stores in Chelan but I can find great options at Bear Foods. And be sure to grab a jar of their 1 ingredient house made peanut butter. I try to get a jar every time I’m in town!
6. The kids always want to stop at Pat and Mikes for extra large scoops of of ice cream.
7. Lakeview Drive In burgers have a serious reputation. Grab a burger and fries and let the kids run around in Don Morse park, play a round of miniature golf or take a few laps around the Rally Alley go kart track.
8. Blueberry Hill for brunch and blueberry picking. Get there early (and ideally on a week day) and have your kids pick blueberries the size of their heads while you or your hubby wait in line to order brunch.
9. Karma Vineyards for the best Champagne flight and spicy clams. Chris and I were married at Karma 6 years ago this Summer. Sitting on Karma’s patio sipping champagne is my favorite thing ever. Also worth mentioning – their champagne tasting flight is $20 and is three nearly full glasses of champagne. Sold.
10. Alpenhorn for a round of put put golf and milk shakes for the kids.
11. Looking for something tasty to throw on the barbecue? Check out The Meat Shop in down town Chelan, the sausages at Red Apple in Manson or stop at Owen’s Meat in Cle Elum before you head over Blewett Pass.
12. Nefarious Cellars for a great glass of wine and an Adirondack chair with a great view.
13. Benson Vineyards for one of the best views in Chelan.
14. Try the burger or chicken Strips at My Buddy’s Place in Manson – especially if you love a good dive bar. We frequented Buddies often before kids :).
