Our Favorite Outdoor Toddler Items (And what I wear while I’m chasing them around)
We buy ALL the things as parents; some are a hit and some are a miss. These are our biggest hits and the things that we truly use multiple times a day anytime it isn’t pouring rain outside:
Bounce House – My mom told me I was insane when we bought this for Joey for his 3rd birthday but I think it’s been our best parent purchase ever. We use it both indoors and outdoors so the kids can get all their crazy energy out rain or shine!
Scooter – We take a scooter ride every. single. day. Joey recently upgraded to the razor scooter but started on a 3 wheel scooter like this.
Balance Bike – If we aren’t scootering, then we are on the balance bike. Joey is shockingly fast on this thing – probably from always trying to keep up with his cousins on their bigger bikes.
Bob Double Jogging Stroller – While Joe scooters or bikes, I am chasing behind him with Jack in the Double Bob. And of course, Joe hops in the stroller on the way back so I get to push them both up the hill while carrying his scooter or bike 🙂
Ride On Push Car – Both of our boys have LOVED this little car. It has definitely seen better days but Jack doesn’t seem to notice 🙂 If we are going on shorter walks then Jack rides in his car and it always makes him happier than getting in the stroller.
Ride on Trucks – My parents have a fleet of ride on vehicles at their house and the kids spend hours on them every time we are there.
I change from pajamas to active wear in the morning and I’m lucky if I get a shower in and get to change clothes again! Right now we spend most of our time playing outside and I’m always chasing or pushing the boys in one of the items above. So, half of the time I just keep my work out clothes on and shower before bed. Here are my new-ish active wear purchases that I am loving for summertime:
Old Navy Run Shorts – These shorts are so comfy and come in a bunch of good patterns – I have them in tie dye (pictured above) and black leopard. They remind me a lot of the Athleta running shorts but are way less expensive!
High Neck Bralette – These are so cute and comfy and perfect for the Peloton or a low impact work out. I have the neon pink and black/white tie dye!
Nike Hat – I throw one of these on most days because I try to keep the sun off my face plus then no one knows how dirty my hair is.
Aerie Leggings – These came highly recommended by a girlfriend of mine and they don’t disappoint! Some of my most comfortable leggings that have held up just as well as my leggings that cost 4x as much!
All in Motion Seamless Bra – Super soft, supportive and comes in all the colors!
Bike Shorts – I never thought I’d wear bike shorts but here we are – I bought them in two colors and I’m a fan. Only $7 and perfect for hot days. Fun fact: Chris makes fun of me every time I wear them and tells me I look like a stork.
