Here’s whats going in our kids stockings!
Every year our mom stuffs our kids stockings (talked about it in our holiday traditions post here) but this year because of Covid we have to be big girls and buy our own stocking stuffers! We had some big Santa boots to fill but I think we did pretty well! My personal goal was to buy things the boys will actually use and not immediately end up at the bottom of one of our many toy bins. We shall see. All the things we have bought for Jack’s stocking (18 months), Joe’s stocking (4 years old), and Sam and Emma’s stockings (turn 8 on 1/3!) are listed below. All items are $20 or less (with the exception of 1 – thanks Megan) and most are under $10.
Jack’s Shark Water Bottle // Bath Body Paint Soap // Mr Bubble Foam Soap // Bath Fishing Pole // Lift the Flap Spot book // Fisher Price Little People // Blippi Rocket Ship // Felt lift the flap book // Milk Chocolate Tuff Trucks // Toddler Palm Grasp Crayons // Cell Phone
WHERE do all of the boys water bottles go?! They all disappear somehow so they are each get a fun new one in their stocking.
I used their stockings to restock all of our favorite bath toys and soaps that we go through so quickly (FYI these are all so much cheaper at Target than they are on Amazon).
A few new Lift the Flap books for Jack – his favorite! My girlfriend introduced me to these felt lift the flap books which are so great because they can’t rip the flaps off which my child tends to do…
Jack loves playing with these Fisher Price Little People and makes the funniest sounds when he does so I got him a few more (even though will totally end up in the bottom of a toy basket). Joe loved playing with them too and used to call them his “guys”.
Jack also recently started watching Blippi with his brother (Hallelujah) so he’s getting this little Blippi space ship too and loves pretending to talk on the phone hence the cell phone and that’s pretty much it!
Spider man water bottle // Color Bath Dropz // Bath Bombs // Bath Body Paint Soap // Small Lego Sets / Mail Plane Lego Set // Chocolate cars // Spiderman Hand Sanitizer // Frozen Elsa Tooth Brush // Spiderman Boxer Briefs // Lego Bracelet
How cute are these Palmer chocolate Tuff Trucks I found at Bartells? These chocolate cars are fun too and don’t require you to leave the house.
A gave in a bought Joe a few small lego sets even though I’m SO OVER lego pieces all of my house.
Never thought I’d put hand sanitizer in a stocking but here we are…
New tooth brushes, tooth paste and flossers! They are weirdly really into their tooth brushes so they will be excited. Joe loves Elsa but I never buy anything Frozen related but gave in and got him this tooth brush.
Fun new undies!
I copied Megan with this Lego Bracelet but I knew Joe would love it especially after seeing the twins with it!
Lego Bracelet // Yeti Jr Water Bottle // Pokemon Cards // Monopoly Deal Card Game // Mr. Sketch Scented Stix Markers // Mini Christmas Tree Lego // Invisible Ink Pens // Lotto Ticket // Sports Smencils “Scented Pencils” // Clementine Orange
Sam and Emma both love creating with legos. I love that this Lego bracelet and Mini Christmas Tree Lego set are just the right size for a stocking. Selfishly, I am hoping that both Lego activities will keep them occupied for at least half an hour.
We are a Yeti household. I don’t leave for work every morning without my Yeti mug full of coffee in hand. And Ryan is a new Yeti coffee mug convert after receiving a monogrammed version from my brother Michael a few weeks ago as a groomsman gift. Sam and Emma will be very excited to have their own Yeti water bottles. Plus, they are fully dishwasher safe. I am SO TIRED of washing water bottles by hand!!! Psst, I have not told Ryan about this purchase yet. He will roll his eyes and grumble about yet another water bottle entering our house. Still worth it 🙂
These Pokemon cards because Sam and Emma are still obsessed and these are the cheapest cards you can find anywhere.
Sam and Emma love playing monopoly, but I am not a fan of a game that never ends by bed time and “must” stay on the coffee table or floor for days on end until our dog Rocky ends up eating a hotel…Sam and Emma also love card games and this Monopoly Deal Card Game promises to be over in under an hour. Sold!
Both Sam and Emma love to draw but the pens in our house are constantly running out of ink (yet they never seem to make it to the garbage unless mom intervenes). Mr. Sketch Markers and scented pencils to the rescue…what’s better than coloring combined with aromatherapy?
These invisible ink pens made me laugh because Sam was convinced about a year ago that if he gave away all his Halloween candy, the “Switch Witch” would bring him a magic pen. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a clue about these invisible ink pens, so Sam got some Pokemon cards in exchange for his Halloween candy. Better late than never, into Sam and Emma’s stockings they go!
Growing up our dad would always put lotto tickets in our stockings and I am excited to carry on the tradition with Sam and Emma. Our odds of winning have to be better on Christmas, right?!?!
Similarly, we always woke up to a clementine orange in the toe of our stockings. I never knew why my mom (I mean Santa) included an orange until I read this article. Whether mimicking spheres of gold or appreciating citrus as a luxury, Sam and Emma’s stockings will have well-rounded toes thanks to the help of a mini orange. And, as an aside, my children could use a little fruit on Christmas morning to offset the sticky buns, Christmas cookies and holiday candy…
What do you put in your children’s stockings? Do you have any stocking stuffer traditions? As stocking stuffer novices, we would love to hear your recommendations! Merry Christmas and happy stuffing!
