Kids Easter Basket Ideas

Anyone else feel like Easter came out of nowhere?!?! Up until Monday night of this week, I was totally unprepared. Think the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland running around with his stopwatch, “Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!” Our Easter Bunny’s baskets were literally totally empty. The good news; however, is we are not too late! On Monday, all the items I selected were still available and able to be delivered and/or picked up prior to April 4th. So, hop on it (pun absolutely intended)!

Both Sam and Emma recently made VIP Posters for school. On their posters, Sam picked gardening as his favorite activity and Emma wrote that she dislikes chicken (but the girl LOVES Chick-fil-A, go figure!). Hence this year I picked the following Easter Basket themes: gardening and chicken. Sam is getting a garden-themed Easter basket (or should I say Easter bucket because the Easter Bunny is delivering Sam’s goodies in a Home Depot bucket) and Emma is getting lovingly tortured with a chicken or chick-themed Easter basket delivered in a large yellow gift bag I plan to transform into a large chick. And don’t worry, I will include a Chick-fil-A gift card in Emma’s basket 🙂

In his garden-themed Easter bucket, Sam will not only receive a Home Depot gift card so he can go pick out some of his own plants, but also a “Carrot Patch Pete” chocolate bunny, carrot gummy candy, chocolate carrots, carrot bubble gum, Gardening For Kids and Raised Bed Gardening for Beginners books, watermelon and green bean kids grow kits, garden gloves, a kale T-Shirt, and seeds for “Zombie” plants and “Tickle Me” plants. You can purchase fillable plastic carrots here for all the Easter candy.

In her chicken-themed Easter gift bag, Emma will be receiving from the Easter Bunny a rainbow Peep pop, chick Ice Breakers, a Lego chick set, a Lindt chocolate chick, yellow hair bands, three chicken books (Max’s Chocolate Chicken, Unusual Chickens for Exceptional Poultry, and Chicken Sunday), three “chicken” Pokemon cards, gummy chick candy, a yellow Nike ball pump, and a matching yellow Nike T-shirt and shorts set. And last but not least a Chick-fil-A gift card so Emma can buy chicken nuggets (no sauce!) and a lemonade all on her own provided she shares her waffle fries with mom. Emma’s yellow fillable chick plastic Easter eggs are available here.

Looking for an Easter basket or gift theme for a younger child? Last year, I pulled together an egg-themed Easter gift for Mallory’s boys that apparently was a hit! The gift included the Egg Board Book, egg sidewalk chalk, Hide & Squeak Eggs, and Percussion Egg Shakers. When Mallory recently reminded, my text response was “Wow! I was good back when I had time to think…” If 2021 is one of those years for you too, don’t worry these egg Easter gift ideas have you covered.
