A Sweet Strawberry Shower
I showered my oldest friend on Saturday with a sweet strawberry baby shower luncheon. An intimate group with individual cheese and fruit plates and all things strawberry made for a lovely afternoon and I am sharing all of the fun details of this delicious baby shower theme below.
The Color Palette
I originally planned a totally different shower and had to change locations and themes last minute because of Covid. The original shower was going to be a luncheon at our local country club and I picked this pink rattan invitation to match such event. When forced to change venues, strawberry was an easy theme choice because this dear friend of mine has always loved strawberries. Given the pink invitation had already been sent, I wanted this shower to tie into the pink invites. I reached out to Calli and Oak and worked with Sarah, the Etsy shop owner, to create a welcome sign that brought in the strawberry theme and pink rattan vibe from the invitation. Sarah was SO nice and helpful, I can’t recommend her enough!
The Tablescape
After picking a new location, my parent’s backyard, and nailing down the sweet strawberry theme, I got on amazon, ordered all the things, and with the help of a few good friends and my mom, everything else just fell into place. Naturally, the strawberry theme inspired the decor and food; here are the different strawberry goodies I was able to track down:
Strawberry Counting Book & Strawberries are Red Book
Ginormous Pink Balloons (WARNING: five of these did not fit in my mid to large sized SUV and I popped one after working for a good 15 minutes to get them in my car)
The Festive Food & Drink
Food was an easy decision. I had been wanting the chance to serve individual cheese plates and this was the perfect occasion to do so. Plates full of cheese, crackers, nuts, baguette, grapes, and salami were the perfect and Covid-friendly way to start the luncheon and enjoy with our bubbly rose. I made Chrissy Tiegen’s Roasted Roasted Cauliflower, Feta and Orzo Salad for the main course and served Angel Food cake smothered in fresh whip cream and strawberries for dessert. In addition to the cake, we offered white chocolate dipped strawberries and the cutest Metropolitan Market Strawberry cookies to take home as favors. For festive sipping and mocktails, I served this Trader Joes Cecilia B. bubbly Rose that I mentioned in this post, Whole Foods Italian Strawberry sparkling mineral water, trawberry Waterloo, and Trader Joes sparkling strawberry juice.
Such a fun afternoon celebrating this soon to be mama with all of my closest high school girlfriends. Are you in the midst of planning a baby shower during this crazy time and don’t know where to start? Hopefully this provides a little inspiration!
