Don’t pinch me! I have all the Green things for you
It’s St. Patricks day so we didn’t feel right about writing a post that wasn’t somewhat on theme for the holiday – AKA GREEN! Do you know why you’re even supposed to wear green on St. Patty’s day in the first place? Well, I didn’t until my Stanford graduate lawyer of a sister sent me this article: wearing green symbolizes Irish Republicanism, a movement from the 18th century that campaigned for Ireland becoming an independent republic. As for the St. Patricks day pinching rule, apparently leprechauns can’t see green, so if you aren’t wearing green you get pinched – because that’s what leprechauns do… I guess? Not surprisingly, there is no Irish source to certify that claim. But just in case you are worried about getting pinched…. here are all the green things we are eyeing and buying right now – from cheese to lounge wear. Happy shopping!
