Karlie Kloss x Milk Bar = Perfect 10 Cookies

Its Friday and you need a cookie to celebrate. And not just any cookie, a Perfect 10 cookie dreamed up by Momofuku Milk Bar and a supermodel Karlie Kloss also known as Karlie’s Kookies. Karlie Kloss recently posted her recipe for Perfect 10 “kookies” on Instagram (@karliekloss) complete with IGTV Video. The Perfect 10 cookies are delicious – we highly recommend you give them a try!

Admittedly I was skeptical, how good could these cookies actually be? The Perfect 10 cookie recipe is gluten-free and vegan and purportedly enjoyed regularly by a supermodel. But if there is any chance eating Karlie’s Kookies will make my legs look like hers or, better yet, Bo Derek running down the beach in a swimsuit, I was willing to give them a try.

Sam and Emma helped me bake the Perfect 10 cookies. And I did not even have to feel guilty about the copious amounts of cookie dough they ate because the recipe includes no raw egg. Sam and Emma may have eaten a dinner of cookie dough but they will be fine.

Plus, the year Momofuku Milk Bar sold the the Perfect 10 cookies in store, they donated 30 percent of the proceeds to FEED, the organization that provides school meals to children around the world through the United National World School Feeding program. One million school meals were fed to hungry children around the world as a result of the “Perfect 10 Kookie”. Now that’s baking responsibly.

Last, there is a great, highly entertaining video of Karlie Kloss and Milk Bar owner and founding chef Christina Tosi making these Perfect 10 cookies together back when they came out in 2013. Watch it here! I asked Mallory if she had a leotard for me to borrow to bake cookies in, but alas, she did not. So you are stuck with pictures of Sam and Emma baking instead.

PERFECT 10 COOKIES

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup toasted slivered almonds (or other nut of your choice)
  • 2/3 cup olive or coconut oil
  • 2/3 cup agave nectar (or any sweetener such as honey or maple syrup)
  • 2 Tbsps vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp nut butter
  • 2 cups gluten free rolled oats
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/2 cup gluten free flour (or 2 Tbsps corn starch)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp ground flax seed
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (vegan)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Toast 1 cup slivered almonds in oven at 300oF until browned (or another nut of your choice).
  2. While nuts are toasting, combine your wet ingredients (oil, sweetener, vanilla, nut butter) in one bowl.
  3. Then combine your dry ingredients (oats, almond flour, gluten free four, salt, flax, chocolate chips) in another bowl.
  4. Add wet & dry ingredients together and mix.
  5. Take out your cookie sheet and spray OR use parchment paper.
  6. Scoop your cookies any size you want them. Use hands to pat them down because cookies don’t puff or spread. They will hold exact shape that you leave them in as dough before you put them in the oven.
  7. Bake at 300oF for approximately 15 minutes (my cookies needed about 20 minutes).

If you are looking for more baking recipes, Milk Bar has posted some of its amazing recipes on its website here. I made Milk Bar’s Cereal Milk recipe to go with my Perfect 10 cookies and it was the perfect combo (and now I am dying to try their Cereal Milk in soft serve form in one of their storefronts once COVID is over). Christina Tosi, has also started Bake Club where she posts inspiring recipes and goes live on Instagram to bring baking joy during COVID. And, my next baking feat has to be this recipe for Milk Bar’s Bagel Bombs. How fantastic do these sound?

In addition to Milk Bar’s fantastic recipes, my family has now ordered two cookies from Milk Bar during COVID with great results. I ordered a chocolate raspberry cake for Ryan for our combo Valentine’s Day/Wedding Anniversary (pictured below) and Laura, our future sister-in-law, ordered the Birthday Cake for our brother Michael. Both cakes arrived looking fabulous and tasting amazing.

We highly recommend you bake the Perfect 10 cookies (maybe with some Milk Bar Cereal Milk to go with them) this weekend! Let us know if do by tagging us on Instagram @letswineaboutitsister with a picture of your delicious cookies!
