Palm Springs Bachelorette

Reentry after a long weekend away is never easy. Reentry after spending four days in Palm Springs with 100-degree heat on a floatie in a pool with a drink in hand celebrating our future sister-in-law Laura (sans children) was HARD! But we are back, laundry catch-up has begun, a few necessary groceries have been purchased, school lunches have been made, a few emails have been responded to, and the welcome home hugs from the kids were epic!

The very talented duo of Kiersten (@kierstko) and Sydney (@syd_mcintyre), college sorority sisters of the bride, created an epic bachelorette weekend in Palm Springs. Our four-bedroom Airbnb house was decorated to the nines in what I would call “tropical disco” including a hot pink Mylar fringe curtain to walk through each time you entered the house. From nightly attire themes (leopard, Hamptons (preppy) and floral); entertainment in the form of Prosecco Pong and Butlers in the Buff (not posting pictures!); an in-home dinner by a private chef; matching Shein heart-shaped sunglasses; an at-home brunch consisting of an avocado toast and mimosa bar; and the Panty Game (everyone brings a pair of panties and the bride has to guess who brought what pair) to which Mallory and I independently both brought leopard Hanky Pankies!

Highlights from the long Palm Springs bachelorette weekend included brunch at The Pink Cabana; dinner at Workshop Kitchen+Bar with a specially curated pre fixe menu; daily walks to koffi for their delicious cold brew (Palm Springs North location); handheld signs of my brother Michael’s face; picking gigantic lemons and grapefruit for cocktails straight from the backyard trees; and Laura’s parents surprise champagne delivery to our dinner table complete with sentimental card that left us all with tears in our eyes (totally stealing this idea if and when Sam and Emma get married!).

Palm Springs was AMAZING, but, best of all, it presented the uninterrupted opportunity to celebrate our future sister-in-law Laura. When asked to describe Laura, Mallory and I both immediately replied “lovely” in unison. Laura is a fun, warm, and devoted friend and aunt with a heart of gold (she is literally a nurse that takes care of the elderly). And, best of all, she unabashedly loves our brother Michael. Laura, we could not be more excited for you to become a full NELSON šŸ™‚ in just a few more weeks!!

Cheers to Laura from @letswineaboutitsister! We love you!
