Spring Sips Inspiration
Its Friday and you deserve a cocktail! And, if you are anything like us, when weather turns a little bit warm, that red wine you have been drinking all winter long suddenly becomes less appealing. All you really want is a cold cocktail (or chilled glass of rosé). Below are our favorite warm weather cocktails now that the sunshine has finally made an appearance in Seattle. Because we all need some spring sips inspiration with Memorial Day Weekend just around the corner and sun in the Seattle forecast for tomorrow!
Frozen Gin & Tonics
Mallory and I like this Frozen GT recipe from @sugarandcharm so much that we requested them along with our Tubs sandwiches on Mother’s Day. And because its unclear if either of our husbands knows how to operate a blender, we even made them ourselves! Although, highly suggest you don’t pull a Mallory and include lime peel (maybe a whole lime or two?!?!) in the recipe itself. Unclear what happened there but a lime wedge makes a much better garnish, take our word for it. Recipe available here.
Beer Margaritas
We made our first 2021 batch of Beer Margaritas in Palm Springs this past weekend. Mallory found a can of limeade concentrate in the refrigerator and literally yelled “BEER MARGS”. I may have come running…. Everyone always raises an eyebrow at the mention of combining beer with tequila, but we have been making this recipe for years and these Beer Margaritas are SO GOOD!. And just a heads up when you are buying supplies, one batch is NEVER enough. Recipe available here.
Frosé
Last summer I was on a mission to come up with a Frosé recipe that did not require pre-freezing rosé. Because, lets be honest, any recipe that requires pre-frozen ingredients necessitates forethought which is few and far between these days. This Lets Wine About It Sister Frosé recipe is a good one and available here.
The Spaghett
The Spaghett or beer spritz is another cocktail recipe that you need to make this spring. Yes, it includes mixing beer and Aperol, but you will not regret it! And, you serve it in a beer bottle which means less dishes. Need I say more?!?!? Recipe available here.
Watermelon Margaritas
All you need is three ingredients (watermelon, lime juice and tequila) to make an awesome Watermelon Margarita. That means they are healthy, right?!?! So simple, but so good. Recipe available here.
Megan’s Skinny Margaritas
And last, but certainly not least, our Skinny Margaritas (also known as White Claw Margaritas). Originally, I came up with this recipe for Ryan on Valentine’s Day using his favorite alcoholic grapefruit seltzer (what we call “Dad Juice”); however, these margaritas are so good and low guilt that they quickly became Mallory and I’s favorite 2020 Quarantine Cocktail. Highly recommend you make these skinny margaritas accompanied with Trader Joe’s Chili Lime Seasoning as soon as possible. Recipe available here.
What do you like to drink when the weather turns warm? Out answer may be “tequila” judging by the number of margarita recipes listed above.
