Wine Tasting at SODO Urbanworks

Looking for something to do during Dry January? Go wine tasting! Ha, but in all seriousness, we had the best day wine tasting at SODO Urbanworks and I highly reccommend you check it out. My brother and future sister-in-law introduced to us to this little gem of an area in South seattle, a place I rarely make it to – I had no idea such a fun little cluster of wineries with outdoor dining existed!

There are 10 different tasting rooms, the San Juan Seltzery taproom, and a nine pies pizza restaurant – aka little something for everyone! We tasted outdoors next to fire pits at both Latta Wines and Rotie Cellars and thoroughly enjoyed the experience at both tasting rooms. This is also the home of Full Pull Wines, an email retail wine business that is now producing its own varietals at its in-house winery – Block Wines. Megan talks more about buying wine from Full Pull here – which is where we all buy our wine now!

I also have to mention where we started the day – Fonda La Catrina – an amazing Mexican food restaurant in Georgetown that Chris used to frequent when he worked at the Starbucks headquarters in Sodo. We had SUCH an amazing meal; outdoor sitting is limited but they take reservations. After that, we made a quick pit stop at Georgetown Brewery, who currently does not have any tasting or drinking on site available, but growlers and beers are available for pick up. We bought two growlers of “Ale for ALS”, a very tasty beer of which about 35% of proceeds go to the ALS Foundation – a wonderful cause in my opinion.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Find a time to get down to SODO Urbanworks for a little lunch and tasting, you won’t regret it! XO
