5 Seasonal Sips

According to my preschooler, Fall doesn’t technically start until Wednesday but it felt very much like Fall this last weekend. We spent the rainy weekend in a Suncadia cabin with friends and it was the perfect time to break out the fall cocktails. Other than when the ladies escaped to the winery for a quick happy hour, I wore these joggers, sweatshirt, running shoes (size down) and Zara vest/vest the entire weekend. I’ll be ordering another sweat set and will be living in them this fall – I highly recommend. Back to cocktails, here is what we will sipping this season – all perfectly aligned with our fall aesthetic, of course.

Apple Cider Mimosas

Just swap your OJ for Apple Cider and Voila – the perfect Fall brunch cocktail. I just enjoyed my first of the season over the weekend in Suncadia. 3 parts champagne or Prosecco, 1 part apple cider.

Cocoa Espresso Martini

Chris and I are just finishing the entire series of Summer House on Bravo and every time they are out they order Espresso Martinis so naturally I had been craving one! Megan makes the best Cocoa Espresso Martini (along with Swiftwater in Suncadia) and it makes for such a fun cozy Fall cocktail or dessert. She was very jealous of my espresso martini and had to make her own last night.

Reese Witherspoon’s Apple Cider Spritz

A fun fall twist on our favorite classic cocktail! Thank you Reese Witherspoon!

Ingredients

Ice
1/2 cup apple cider
2 ounces Aperol
2 ounces Prosecco
Seltzer
Sliced apples
Cinnamon sticks

Directions

  1. Fill glass with ice.
  2. Pour in apple cider, Aperol, and Prosecco.
  3. Fill to top of glass with splash of seltzer.
  4. Garnish with sliced apples and cinnamon sticks.

Apple Cider Margaritas

Megan perfected this recipe last fall, and we are excited to bring them back. Also, perfect for a fall fiesta.

  • Cinnamon sugar (1 part cinnamon to 4 parts sugar) and flaky sea salt, for the glass rim
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1/2 ounce Triple Sec
  • 4 ounces (1/2 cup) apple cider
  • juice from 1/2 a lime
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup (use more or less to your taste)
  • apple slices and cinnamon sticks, for serving

If desired (you desire!), rim your glass in salted cinnamon sugar. Mix equal parts cinnamon sugar and sea salt. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and coat in sugar. Combine the tequila, Triple Sec, apple cider, lime juice, and maple in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake to combine. Strain into the glass over ice cubes. Garnish with apple slices and cinnamon sticks.

Bourgogne Cote D’Or

Our friends brought this French Pinot Noir over for dinner and it is my new favorite. Even my wine snob sister thinks it is delicious. And lucky for us north Seattleites, you can grab your own bottle at University Wines on Sand Point Way. Its so light and smooth – this will be my go to red until the sunshines comes back this Spring.
