Are You in Need of a Pedicure?
Its finally getting to be that time of year when us Seattleites can start dreaming about wearing sandals and flipflops again. For me, that means I need someone to scrub off the remnants of last fall’s toenail polish and make my feet look presentable again. Where do you like to go to get a pedicure? I may have an idea for you!
Recently, as a post-birthday treat, my mom, sister, and future sisters-in-law headed together on Saturday morning (sans children) to Frenchy’s Day Spa for manicures & pedicures (thank you to my brother Michael for the holiday gift certificates!). For years I was a Julep enthusiast, but since Julep closed its doors in early 2019, I have not found a parlor that I visit with any regularity. So, blame it on Julep or my fear of traffic crossing the Montlake cut, but prior to my most recent visit, I had not been to Frenchy’s for a long time.
Located in Madison Park, Frenchy’s is a day spa that offers a full menu of spa services from manicures to pedicures, facials, massage, hair removal and lash lifting. What made Frenchy’s special for our Saturday visit? Excellent technicians; the fact that you can bring in your own bottles of champagne to be served to you while you have your nails done; the amazing leopard carpet; and the fact that they use separate bowls for each of their pedicures (I have a thing about those massage chairs with the attached sinks!.;
Frenchy’s base pedicure, known as “The Classic”, is a 50-minute pedicure for $49. I thoroughly enjoyed my pedicure and my feet look great. Our group’s only complaint is that some of the technicians asked some whether callus removal was desired without informing us that there would be a $5 upcharge for the service which is considered “extra”. Consider yourselves duly warned!
After our mani/pedis at Frenchy’s we headed up Madison Street to Luc for brunch, which I also highly recommend. The spritzes, beignets, and Croque Madame were excellent. Is there a better way to kick off a weekend then champagne, pedicures, and brunch?
