You can’t beat the views at the Alderbrook Resort and Spa. Have you been to this little slice of heaven? We spent our second family reunion at Alderbrook last weekend and loved it just as much as we did the first time. Here are all the reasons why we think you should consider it for your next family get away. The Ferry Ride Born and raised in the Seattle area, I realized that I really never thought about how unique, cool and fun ferries are! But really they only exist in like 3 major cities (don’t quote me on that but its not many)! The ferries are a great reminder…

Date Night at The Canteen at Camp Canlis
Leave it to the best fine-dining restaurant in Seattle to be the most creative and come up with multiple different Covid-friendly outdoor dining options. The restaurant claimed Camp Canlis, yurt and treehouse dining, smokehouse barbecue fare, is their last creative reinvention now that things are returning to normal but we can hope they keep the creativity flowing! Not only is it nice to have new out door dining options, but it’s also amazing that they are offering more casual and wallet-friendly, yet equally delicious options! Chris and I recently dined at the “Canlis Canteen”, hosted on the lower parking lot, featuring casual menu options like smokehouse barbecue, campfires, BBQ and…

Have you been to Kenmore lately? If not, you have two new reasons to go: The Lodge at St. Edwards Park and Stoup Brewing. The Lodge at St. Edwards Park Why is this cool and worth a trip to Kenmore? Saint Edward Seminary was an institution for developing Catholic priests and it operated for 46 years before closing in 1976. A beautiful 366 acre plot on the shores of Lake Washington owned by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle until it was sold to the State of Washington to become Saint Edward State Park. So, if you have ever been boating on the far north end of Lake Washington and wonder…

Nordstrom Tomato Basil Soup and Parmesan Garlic Crostini and Anniversary Sale, Oh My!
Today is not only our Mom’s birthday (Happy Birthday, Lori!) but also our first day to shop the 2021 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Much to our husbands’ chagrin, Mallory and I completely buy into Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale tag line “Its more than a sale, its an event.” And while boggers everywhere will likely break the Internet today posting all of their sale picks, I thought it would be fun to celebrate Nordstrom by sharing a funny related anecdote about our Grandma Barbie before diving into our this year’s Sale picks. Skip to the bottom of this post if you are just here for the Sale picks (no judgment!). Growing up, Grandma…

Walla Walla Wedding
Our little Michael brother is married! How is that possible?!?! Known as BBQ Mike, Pizza Mike, Dirty Mike, The Big Skillet, Son of a Buff (our dad’s name is Buff, story for another day!), I cannot believe that the baby of our family got hitched. I still remember when our parents brought him home from the hospital. Mallory and I spent last weekend in Walla Walla, Washington celebrating Michael and his lovely bride Laura. It was an incredible wedding – beautiful, delicious, fun and HOT. All of the wedding and Walla Walla details are below. The wedding and all its festivities took place at the Abeja Winery and Inn. The…

I listed our favorite Roslyn spots below for the next time you find yourself in Suncadia or driving over the mountains and looking for a tasty bite and cold drink. Onto my next point… I highly recommend everyone invests in a fanny pack/belt…

A long weekend in Charleston
Chris and I took our first trip just the two of us in I don’t even know how long! We went to Charleston and had the best time; we ate, drank and walked our way through the gorgeous city and I highly recommend our trip to any couple looking for a getaway! An extra special thanks to my hubby for planning such a great weekend away and taking his Instagram husband status from a zero to a ten. Where we stayed Planters Inn – right in the heart of downtown Charleston. A great location if you are looking to explore all the city has to offer. We had many friends…
