Coffee Talk: Nespresso VertuoLine
How much do we love our Nespresso coffee machines? So much that it deserves its’ own post. This isn’t a new machine; we’ve had it since Joe was an infant (4 or so years) but it has been a game changer. With all of our old coffee makers, I still craved a Starbucks or latte, but now I prefer my Nespresso more than anything from Starbucks except for the occasional iced latte in the Summer. I have converted many friends to the Nespresso life and if you happen to be in the market for a new coffee machine – I highly recommend the Nespresso Vertuo! Also don’t mind me just awkwardly modeling with my coffee while Joe takes pictures – who am I?!
There is nothing earth-shattering about the Nespresso Vertuo – it’s just a really good cup of coffee or espresso! And really nice to have the choice of a coffee or espresso with one machine! We order our pods from Nespresso but you can also order them through Amazon, Costco, William-Sonoma. They come out with different coffee pod flavors through out the year and festive pods around the holidays which are always fun. My very favorite coffee pod is the Mexico, love the Kona espresso pods, and the Hazelino Muffin and Caramel Cookie are very tasty when you want a little flavor (Chris loves the Vanilla Custard Pie). Another great thing about Nespresso is they have their own recycling bags and system that makes it super easy to recycle your coffee pods. Nespresso sends you recycling bags with your coffee order and then you just drop it off at UPS or any Nespresso Boutique (like William Sonoma).
Then there are the things that make my cup of Nespresso even much better:
- My YETI mug. It keeps my coffee perfectly warm and I hate drinking my coffee without one now. Megan actually travels with her YETI mugs and is considering replacing all of her mugs with YETI for her new house. ALSO – Did you know they sell YETI mugs locally? I went into our neighborhood boutique, Jack Jerome, and they have such a great selection of Yeti! Check it out.
- Nut Pods Original Creamer is my jam. Unsweetened, dairy-free, sugar-free, almond and coconut creamer and it’s just the best. It has the consistency and rich taste of half and half but without all the crap! Lately, if I am feeling a little extra, I froth my nut pods in my Nespresso Milk Frother and then pour it in my Nespresso and oh my gosh; so good. I also love my milk frother for making lattes at home with the Nespresso espresso pods.
- Last but not least, I add one scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides or Vital Proteins Coconut Coffee Cream to my coffee every morning. I’m sure we’ve all heard about the benefits of taking a collagen supplement at this point, but just in case and in very simple terms, its for healthier hair, skin and joints :). The regular Vital Proteins Collagen has no flavor and you can’t even tell it is in your coffee but the creamer is tasty (coconut is my favorite) and replaces the need for Nut Pods. I usually use the Collagen Creamer if we run out of my favorite coffee pods or Nut pods.
So, it goes like this: YETI mug, 1 scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptide powder, pick your Nespresso pod (put it in machine and press start), and stir as the coffee flows into YETI mug so the Vital Proteins dissolve easier, and then top with a little splash of Nut pods! And enjoy! Hope you all are having a good week!
