Highlights from the Holidays

Let’s start by saying, our big kids new found love of American Ninja Warrior and Jack’s new found love of Blippi really just saved the Holiday Season. Haha, we are kidding, kind of. We are sitting here in Suncadia, on the 2nd day of 2021, enjoying a glass or two of champs and recapping our favorite moments, meals, and things since we posted a week and a half ago ;). Here they are:

The Zara Padded Vest

Since our mom gave us these matching vests just a week before Christmas, we have both worn them every.single.day. This vest is so comfortable, warm and works over everything.

Mallory’s Lululemon Wunder Puff Jacket

It feels like a sleeping bag and I live in it when I am in the mountains. Highly recommend for anyone who runs cold like I do!

Electric Scooters

Our kids can no longer complain about going on long walks and having to go up hills. This electric scooter solves all of our walk drama. Admittedly, I was a little nervous because the age range is 8+ and Joe is 4 (yikes) although he is a very big and coordinated four but it no way does it go fast enough to be concerned.

Jack’s Roller Coaster

Jack’s favorite new Christmas toy that gets hours of use each day (going strong for over a week). Joe also loves the roller coaster…

Jack’s Nike Boots

Jack has never loved a pair of shoes more. He requests his boots regularly and lights up/does a dance anytime he gets to wear them. Plus, more importantly, they keep his feet dry (and warm?) in the snow and rain.

Overnight Laneige Lip Mask (Vanilla)

A new favorite thanks to my future sister-in-law who gave it out as one of her favorite things from 2020 at our annual favorite things family tea. I use it all the time, not just overnight, and it goes on so smooth and solves all of my dry winter lip problems.

Megan’s Face Wipes (RoC Daily Cleaning Pads)

One of Megan’s favorite things that she gifted to all the women in our family and are quickly becoming one of my favs.

Espresso Martinis and Aperol Spritzes

Megan’s Goop Cocoa Espresso Martinis made a come back and were the perfect things for our cozy cabin New Years weekend in Suncadia. Also, while they may seem better in the summer, Aperol Spritzes in fact taste just as good, if not better, in the winter snow as they do on a hot summer day. Another wise cocktail option for the holidays!

Ryan’s Baked Bucatini Sunday Sauce and Bread Tree & New Years Ramen

Christmas dinner looked very different this year, but we did our best to make the most of a very unfortunate year and it ended up being a meal we won’t forget. Ryan and Megan knocked it out of the park with Ryan’s Sunday Baked Bucatini with Megan’s Christmas Cheesy Garlic Pull Apart Christmas Tree (a la @dianemorrisey). YUM. And to really top off a week full of indulging, we kicked off the new year with a steaming bowl of Megan’s Ramen and the kids decided drinking out of champagne glasses is way more fun.

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! I’m sure we are all looking forward to 2021…
