• Goldbelly & Valentine Weekend ReCap

It was such a fun and food-filled SNOWY valentines day weekend! We never get that much snow in Seattle so it’s always a bit of a shock and seriously inconvenient BUT it’s SO MUCH better when your sister lives right across the street! So, while the kids played in the snow, we cooked, ate and drank our way through the weekend. Here are the highlights: For Valentines brunch, I made Chrissy Teigen’s Everything Bagel Cream Cheese Breakfast Bake which is always a hit, this Nutella Banana Bread by Minimalist Baker, and Megan came in theme with heart-shaped strawberry kabobs, heart-shaped cinnamon rolls with pink frosting and heart-shaped BACON. Okkkk. I…

  • Budget-Friendly Beach Buys

We are heading to Hawaii in a few weeks and I am so excited for some sunshine and a change of scenery. That said, the beach is on my mind and I’ve been on the hunt for all the cute things to wear in Hawaii which brings me to my next point: I’m on a BUDGET now. To be clear, I have ever been able to buy anything and everything, BUT for both Chris and my sanity we decided that I would get a monthly budget for all the things I spend money on so that he doesn’t have to see what I am buying and I am responsible for…

  • Kid-Friendly Valentine Breakfast Inspiration

Who can say no to pink hot chocolate and goldfish cracker crusted quiche?! Not even our kids. We kicked off the first weekend in February with a fun little Valentine brunch and it would make a delicious start to anyone’s Valentines Day. Not to mention, I am loving having a little Valentine hot chocolate bar in my kitchen; such a festive and fun treat that’s pretty to look at! Check out the tasty recipes below that would be a perfect way to kick off your Valentines day with the family. Pink Hot Chocolate 2 cups whole milk Kosher salt ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1/2 cup white chocolate chips 3…

  • Super Bowl Wine and Chip Pairing

Unless the Seahawks are in the Super Bowl, I’m only watching for the commercials, snacks, booze and half time show. I saw @samanthasommelier post an ad on Instagram with Walmart for a chip and wine pairing and thought it was genius; clearly I needed to try my own version! So, when I had zero plans the last Sunday playoff game (and Chris and Joe were planning on watching it) I decided it was the perfect time for my chip and wine pairing. I have never bought this many chips in my life but naturally this was the perfect excuse to buy all my favorite kinds: Cool Ranch Doritos, Hint of…

Here are all the fun things we have been buying and eyeing to make February a little more fun and festive; from heart-shaped snacks and treats for our kids lunches, to pink velvet scrunchies and BABE bubbly cans for your girlfriends, and some bright red running shoes for us! For the kids and your household: Heart veggie chips // X and O pretzels // Mother’s X…

  • Aged to Perfection. Blind Birthday Wine Tasting for Buff

We had the best time on Saturday evening celebrating our Dad’s 71st birthday with a blind wine tasting! Laura, our soon to be sister-in-law, had done this in the past with her girlfriends and suggested we do it for our wine-loving father’s birthday and it was so fun! It made for such an easy and fun way to celebrate – and way more fun than your typical birthday dinner! My mom and I saw this pandemic cheese board/clip board idea on Instagram and thought it would be perfect for walking around outdoors and wine tasting. Megan printed out these cute little wine score cards and done! How fun our cheese…

  • Coffee Talk: Nespresso VertuoLine

How much do we love our Nespresso coffee machines? So much that it deserves its’ own post. This isn’t a new machine; we’ve had it since Joe was an infant (4 or so years) but it has been a game changer. With all of our old coffee makers, I still craved a Starbucks or latte, but now I prefer my Nespresso more than anything from Starbucks except for the occasional iced latte in the Summer. I have converted many friends to the Nespresso life and if you happen to be in the market for a new coffee machine – I highly recommend the Nespresso Vertuo! Also don’t mind me just…

  • TikTok Wrap Trend

Have you seen it yet? The TikTok tortilla wrap hack food trend that’s gone viral? Well, we obviously had to try it and good news – it’s worth the hype. Make any flavor combination wraps for an easy breakfast, lunch or dinner! The process is super easy and I could eat one everyday. Directions: Cut a slit to the middle of burrito-sized tortilla (I like Siete Grain Free and Carb Balance Whole Wheat tortillas) and fill each quarter with your favorite ingredients. Then simply fold each quarter triangles onto themselves until you have a layered wrap. Then brush each side with a tiny bit of olive oil and put it…

  • Wine Tasting at SODO Urbanworks

Looking for something to do during Dry January? Go wine tasting! Ha, but in all seriousness, we had the best day wine tasting at SODO Urbanworks and I highly reccommend you check it out. My brother and future sister-in-law introduced to us to this little gem of an area in South seattle, a place I rarely make it to – I had no idea such a fun little cluster of wineries with outdoor dining existed! There are 10 different tasting rooms, the San Juan Seltzery taproom, and a nine pies pizza restaurant – aka little something for everyone! We tasted outdoors next to fire pits at both Latta Wines and…

  • Mocktails for a Dry-ish January

December was FUN and FULL of indulging and unfortunately it’s time to lock it up. That being said, I have two wild toddler boys at home in the midst of the pandemic soooo why would I go completely dry? I wouldn’t. But, I am saving the wine for the weekends and attempting to be dry Monday through Thursday this month. That said, I’m finding myself wanting something around 4 pm as I wait for Chris to get home from work at approximately 4:47 every day. And I want something other than the water and bubbly water I’ve been drinking all day long. I even found myself craving a diet coke…
