• ALL our Recent Amazon Orders

We order a lot on Amazon – just ask our husbands. While Chris and Ryan might not love it, we think we find all sorts of deals and steals and just great things for the kids, our households and ourselves! So, we thought you might appreciate a little round up of our recent purchases and the things we find ourselves using all of the time right now. For the kids: 3 Pack of Silicone Toddler and Baby Plates – It finally occurred to me that I only had 2 of these and needed to order more because they are the best and I use them for every meal. Easy Lunchbox…

  • Hawaiian Sunday Funday

Thanks to Megan, we love a good theme around here, but even the queen of themes wasn’t to thank for this Sunday Funday. I coordinated a play date for Joe with his pal Kennedy, who happens to be my little brother’s fiancé’s niece. Have I told you this wild story yet? My little brother, Michael, is marrying my husband’s childhood best friend/now co-worker’s, sister… I know, it hardly even makes sense to me. But long story short, Laura and Michael got engaged last October in Hawaii and both mine and Laura’s family were there to celebrate the surprise engagement. Sadly, I don’t think we will be going to Maui any…

  • Karlie Kloss x Milk Bar = Perfect 10 Cookies

Its Friday and you need a cookie to celebrate. And not just any cookie, a Perfect 10 cookie dreamed up by Momofuku Milk Bar and a supermodel Karlie Kloss also known as Karlie’s Kookies. Karlie Kloss recently posted her recipe for Perfect 10 “kookies” on Instagram (@karliekloss) complete with IGTV Video. The Perfect 10 cookies are delicious – we highly recommend you give them a try! Admittedly I was skeptical, how good could these cookies actually be? The Perfect 10 cookie recipe is gluten-free and vegan and purportedly enjoyed regularly by a supermodel. But if there is any chance eating Karlie’s Kookies will make my legs look like hers or,…

  • COVID Wedding Details

Planning a COVID wedding? I’m sorry! We celebrated our brother and new sister-in-law Betsy last weekend in Chelan in what was originally supposed to be a beautiful 300 person wedding, plus a weekend of events and celebrating. After much heartache, they decided to proceed with a small family wedding ceremony and dinner. We picked up on a few details that worked well for keeping everyone safe during these scary times and thought someone else might appreciate the tips if they find themselves in a similar predicament. First things first, my parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Karma Vineyards (where I got married!) and offered individual boxes of Fran’s Chocolate Salted…

  • Salami Ragu

To celebrate the fact that its Friday, we have a new pasta recipe for you today: Salami Ragu! Ever since travelling with Ryan to Venice through Stirred Travel, we have been following @rosiemackeanpastaqueen. Rosie was one of the incredible chefs during our amazing Italian culinary adventure and the pasta pictures she posts on her Instagram account are nothing short of mouthwatering. When Rosie recently posted a recipe for Salami Ragu, I could not resist giving it a try. It was absolutely delicious! We highly recommend you follow her Instagram account for some incredible pasta recipes and, in the words of Rosie, get stuck into her Salami Ragu as soon as…

  • Golf Picnic Date Night

“Oh you are golfing again? I’m coming!” And by golfing I mean driving around in a golf cart on a sunny evening drinking a cold glass of Washington wine and eating a yummy (and cute to boot) pressed Italian picnic sandwich. I don’t golf but after this lovely evening I’m thinking I should! When our husbands said they were going golfing again, my girlfriend and I decided it was time for us to join them. Given the times and lack of food options at this course, I decided to pack a little picnic for each couple. These are tasty and pretty sandwiches, perfect for a picnic or as it turns…

  • Summer Tart Night

Savory and sweet, these tarts are so simple, you can whip up a couple different versions in very little time. An easy yummy way to enjoy summer produce – just add to store-bought puff pastry and you are half way to dinner. Cut them up small for easy party appetizers, or serve one with a salad for a light and delicious summertime meal like we did last weekend! Don’t forget dessert! This strawberry Nutella tart was so simple but SO delicious. Also, I hate to admit it but Megan made the prettier Zucchini tart and I made the rest ha! Hot tip: roll the puff pastry out with a rolling…

  • Parent Pops

We made it to Friday and, whew, its been a week! To top it off, we learned yesterday afternoon that Sam and Emma will not be physically headed back to school in September and instead restarting full-time digital learning. So I decided mom needed boozy popsicles STAT and, after tasting our frozen creations, we decided we had to share… After lots of taste-testing with multiple taste-testers (funny how easy it was to find volunteers for this job!), we came up with four varieties of what we are calling our “Parent Pops”: red wine fudgsicles, rosé pops, Corona popsicles, and margarita popsicles. This weekend is supposed to get warm again, so…

  • Stay At Home Sushi Night

I am by no means a sushi expert but I love to host a stay at home sushi night. Our good friends who moved to Eastern Washington stayed with us last weekend and I was excited to treat them to a tasty Seattle Sushi evening. It’s not a secret that we have great seafood in Seattle and our friends were ready to indulge in some great sushi they have been missing on the Eastside of the mountains. I started the evening by offering Sapporo beer and my spin on a Sake Spritz. The original recipe I found called for Plum Sake and mango-flavored seltzer water, so why not add mango…
