Strawberry season is here! And every grocery store I enter right now has strawberries on sale. Last week, needing to use up the abundance of strawberries in my fridge, I tried two new delicious Instagram strawberry recipes that are must tries while strawberry season is upon us. First, I tried @ainttooproudtomeg’s Roasted Strawberries & Burrata served with grilled balsamic chicken thighs and toasted rosemary bread. This dish was heavenly. Cannot recommend highly enough! Par-Tee Time
We spent a kid-free weekend in Suncadia celebrating Chris’ birthday with a few of our dear friends and it was a Par-Tee. Here are all the fun things we did to take your typical Suncadia cabin weekend up a notch: We had Happy Hour at the Coal Shoot Cafe and Pub in Roslyn and then Meat Mike barbequed steaks from Owen’s Meats (Michael’s favorite place) for dinner. Backyard on a Budget
If you’ve been following us on Instagram, you may know that I (Mallory) had the exterior of our house painted this week. The painting project is just finishing up and it looks so much better – I love it! We chose Shermin-Williams Peppercorn (a dark grey blue), Alabaster White trim, and Bathe Blue for our front door. Favorite Breweries
It’s Chris’s birthday today! So naturally we kicked off his birthday weekend last night at one of our favorite local spots: Burke-Gilman Brewing. We love a good a beer around here and usually end up at one of our favorite breweries at some point over the weekend. There are so many kid and dog-friendly breweries nearby with great outdoor spaces that make for a fun family outing – especially when we can walk or bike to them. Lets Talk About Lighting
Our new house has reached the point in the renovation process where I need to order lights. 45 new lights to be exact. That number is both overwhelming and inherently expensive. And, of course, I complicated the selection process because I want our new home’s lighting to be cohesive with a nod toward the 1930s era of the home and, importantly, budget conscious. Una Bellissima Italian Bridal Shower
This past weekend, we had the honor of celebrating our future sister-in-law Laura (@laurafrieds) at the most beautiful Italian-themed bridal shower hosted by the equally beautiful and very talented duo Kiersten (@kierstko) and Sydney (@syd_mcintyre). We thought we would kick off the week by sharing some of the gorgeous details from Laura’s bridal shower! Guests were greeted to the shower with beverages including on-theme “Bridal Aperol Spritzes”. We loved the cocktail sign detail! And the shower décor included well-placed bowls of lemons and an Aperol-colored balloon arch to match the cocktails. Dinner was delicious Italian-themed fare.
